Our "Centrist" President

This is a crushing and completely unacceptable reversal of policy that is going to hurt Utah's wilderness more than Salazar or any of these clowns can imagine. From NPR:

The Obama administration is backing away from a plan to make millions of acres of undeveloped land in the West eligible for federal wilderness protection.

Interior Secretary Ken Salazar said in a memo to his agency that officials will not designate any public lands as "wild lands." Instead Salazar said the agency will work with members of Congress to develop recommendations for managing millions of acres of undeveloped land in the West. A copy of the memo was obtained by The Associated Press.

Salazar's decision reverses an order issued in December to make millions of acres of public land eligible for wilderness protection. A budget deal approved by Congress prevented the Interior Department from spending money to implement the wilderness policy. Several Western states filed suit to block the plan.

No fight. No attempt to do the right thing here, which in this case Utah's local reps can or will not do.

This administration has lost me completely.

Glenn Beck and Cleon Skousen: A Match Made In John Birch, Commie-Paranoia Nutjob Heaven

I fully intend to stop using Glenn Beck as a punching bag, but damn it, there are a few things that I just can’t let slip past me without comment. In a previous post, I linked to a video of a weepy Beck flogging his latest project/marketing vehicle, the so-called 9/12 project (the intent is to bring us all back to that kumbaya, trans-partisan state of nationalism that followed the greatest American tragedy in recent history). As I stated in said previous post, I’m a big believer in giving people a fair shake, and so I have been giving the 9/12 Project’s website a thorough going-over.
